Jay lad
Having graduated from City University London with a Bsc Hons in Optometry Jay started working for 4-Sight Opticians practice in 1989. Having trained and worked with 4-Sight for a number of years he opened a SpecSavers franchise in Birmingham City Centre in 1991. Although the franchise is still running today, Jay sold his interest and moved on to undertake a period of travel and Locum work before setting up Lad & Turner Opticians with his now partner; Peter Turner.
As well as plenty of in-practice experience, Jay continues to add to his academic qualifications. He successfully completed further examinations to become a Glaucoma Screening Specialist, a Cataract Specialist as well as a Minor Eye Conditions Specialist. This latter qualification forms part of a new initiative by the Local Health Authority, promoting GP surgery and Pharmacy referrals for minor eye conditions to a local eye specialist.
Jay is a Member of the College of Optometrists, The Association of Optometrists and the General Optical Council. He is happily married to Roshni with 2 children and enjoys Charity Walks and Cycling, with Vision Aid Overseas & The National Deaf Children’s Society being a particular favourite.
